About The Beacon School

The Beacon School is an independent, non-profit, co-educational school modeled upon the best international educational practice. It is committed to providing a global education of the highest quality, rooted in an understanding of Filipino culture and traditions, to children of all nationalities.

Within this context, the Beacon School aims to maximize the potential of every child through an active partnership between children, teachers and parents. We aim to achieve this by providing a happy, secure and caring environment where individual differences are acknowledged and respected, and by the promotion of mutual respect, understanding and effective communication between home and school.

The school offers an educational programme which aims to meet the needs of both the Filipino and international communities. We aim to produce children who are actively engaged in the pursuit of knowledge, and who are confident and capable of creative and critical thought. We want our children to be aware that they are part of a wider world community, and that their actions and behaviour can have consequences and that, individually and collectively, they can effect change.

We believe that our aims can best be achieved through an inquiry-based approach to learning. Thus our programme is firmly based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes. In 2005, we became the first school in the Philippines to be authorized by the I.B. Office to offer the Primary Years Programme. In November 2007 we were also authorized by the I.B Office to offer the Middle Years Programme. Thus we are now an I.B World School.

The Beacon School is located in the tree-lined grounds of the Philippine Center for Population and Development situated in Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Taguig, Metro Manila.
