The Beacon School seeks to enroll a broad range of children who will benefit from the approaches to learning which the school offers. Admission of children to The Beacon School is based on a clear set of guidelines, with the intention of ensuring that each child who is admitted is placed in an environment in which the child may experience success. The Beacon School caters to students from Pre-School level to Grade Eight.
For any school year, places will be offered from Pre-School to Grade Eight, subject to space being available.
Within the Pre-School programme, there is a morning programme offered. The Pre-School morning programme generally begins at the same time as the rest of the school.
For admission to Pre-School 3 level, students need to have reached the age of 4 years by the 1 August in the school year applied for. For Pre-School 3 levels, there will be a maximum of 8 students in each section.
The Elementary School includes Kindergarten level, and Grades 1 to 5 levels. For entry to Kindergarten level, students need to have reached the age of 5 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 1 level, students need to have reached the age of 6 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 2 level, students need to have reached the age of 7 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 3 level, students need to have reached the age of 8 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 4 level, students need to have reached the age of 9 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 5 level, students need to have reached the age of 10 years by 1 August in the school year applied for.
For Kindergarten to Grade 5 classes, the maximum size is 15 students per section. There is a maximum of two sections at each grade level.
The Middle School includes Grades 6, 7 and 8 levels. For entry to Grade 6 level, students need to have reached the age of 11 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 7 level, students need to have reached the age of 12 years by 1 August in the school year applied for. For entry to Grade 8 level, students need to have reached the age of 13 years by 1 August in the school year applied for.
For Middle School classes, the maximum size is 20 students per section. There is a maximum of two sections at each grade level.
